A person involved in barricading a Jewish temple in the Manchester area has described how a deadly attack unfolded, leading to the demise of a pair of community members.
That Thursday, the survivor was within the local synagogue when an attacker crashed into and stabbed worshippers assembling for a observance to observe the holy day.
Mr Levy stated that the 'deranged' individual tried to bash down the entrances of the place of worship, and he described barricading the structure with additional congregation members.
Two individuals, aged 53 and 66 were killed in the incident on Thursday, while several more were injured while attempting to defend others.
He, who acts as a leader at the temple, explained securing the doors and said that the perpetrator employed blades and outdoor items to attempt entry.
I witnessed a terrifying individual ram against the entrance, attempting to break them open with a knife in his hand," he shared with the media.
The sole statement that was audible he uttered 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'.
"That's the only thing I heard him say. We remained behind the doors and we were declaring 'we are not letting this man in'.
He acted like a deranged, evil monster."
The statements coincided with many individuals took part in the memorial for one of the victims.
Family members, attendees from the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation along with a religious leader, and participants of the broader community gathered in a nearby location to honor the deceased.
Those present filled the burial ground, with many standing outside the chapel in the inclement weather, following the service and eulogy over speakers.
In a message released on the following day, the victim's loved ones stated that he would "do anything to help anyone".
Local authorities reported that Mr Daulby appeared to have been hit by law enforcement rounds as they shot the attacker following the alarm was raised.
He, who was described by his relatives as a "brave individual", was present at a service at the house of worship when the violence began.
He remained a dear family member, devoted uncle to his family members and a dear extended family member," his family noted.
